Nursing Orientation (NRS)
NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION (NEO)
When:
New Employee Orientations are scheduled every Monday and occasional Tuesdays.
Time:
NEO begins promptly at 8:00am and ends at 4:30pm
Where:
NEO is located at the Palomar Medical Center, on the lobby floor in the computer classroom
Things to know:
- You must arrive by 8:00am. If you are more than 10 minutes late without contacting the computer classroom to let someone know, you will be asked to reschedule. Contact information is provided below.
- Parking can be a challenge; however we have provided alternate parking arrangements for your convenience. Please review the parking information link below prior to your Orientation date.
- You will receive your employee parking decal during Orientation. Please bring your vehicle license plate number.
- Your photo will also be taken for your I.D. badge.
- Human Resources will provide you with a $5 coupon for lunch at the cafeteria. There will not be a refrigerator available if you choose to bring your own lunch.
- You must attend NEO. If you need to reschedule your Orientation date, please contact your HR Employment Specialist. Contact information is provided below.
- You will be paid for NEO.

INSIGHTS TO EXCELLENCE (INSIGHTS)
When:
Insights to Excellence is the 3rd Wednesday of every month
Time:
Insights begins promptly at 8:00am and ends at 12:00
Where:
Insights is located at PMC at the Graybill Auditorium, on the lobby floor across from the computer classroom
Things to know:
- Insights is an interactive Orientation
- Working in a group, you will discuss the different fundamentals that you have learned about PPH during your first 30 days
- At Insights, you have the opportunity to meet our CEO, Michael Covert
- You must attend Insights within 90 days of employment. If it is not attended within that timeframe, you will be placed on a Leave of Absence

NURSING ORIENTATION (NRS)
(if applicable to your position)
When:
Nursing Orientation dates vary and will be scheduled at the time of your offer
Time:
NRS begins promptly at 8:00am and ends at 4:30pm
Where:
NRS is located at the Palomar Medical Center, on the lobby floor in the computer classroom
Things to know:
- NRS is held for 2 days, however, your position may only require 1 day. This will be discussed at the time of your offer
- During NRS, you will learn the different hospital systems including Cerner, charting and others.
